Overview

For decades, the innovative engineering of our windows and doors have been the accepted standard in Europe. Now, this proven technology is available to North American homeowners through Cahan European Window. Our products are extremely sturdy and functional, but still beautiful, completely secure, and energy efficient.

Cahan offers two distinct product lines to serve every need. The first, All-wood, is comprised of both a wood interior and wood exterior. The second, Alu-wood, has a wood interior but an aluminum exterior. Both our product lines use double-pane glass with low E coating and Argon gas, resulting in noise reductions and energy efficiency ratings that exceed standard requirements. And unlike other European-style windows, ours offer a nail flange and screens. See below for more distinctive features of each line.

All-wood (wood interior/wood exterior) Windows

All-wood products showcase the beauty of natural wood as an accenting feature of gorgeous homes – inside and out. The strength properties of the All-wood product line come from the use of very dense wood species. The All-wood uses a cross-grained, triple-laminated solid wood frame (no veneer) which provides superior stability and keeps the thermal transfer low.

Alu-wood (wood interior/aluminum exterior) Windows

Alu-wood products offer the warmth and comfort of wood inside combined with the efficiency and durability of aluminum outside. Unlike other European-style windows, Alu-Wood windows offer a nail flange and screens. Our windows are constructed using a solid aluminum box frame of fully extruded metal. The strength properties derive from the use of aluminum that is approximately 1.5 mm (nearly 1/16") thick, which is considerably thicker than the aluminum cladding used on most standard windows. The Alu-wood line uses multiple thermal breaks, which allow for complete separation of the wood and aluminum. This method reduces thermal transfer and eliminates moisture accumulation.

Lift & Slide Doors (available in Alu-wood and All-wood)

Lift & Slide doors are the best doors in the world. They are silent, smooth, and beautifully solid. You can adjust them to fit your lifestyle – they can be locked at any point on the track just by lifting the handle. Lift & Slide doors are secure, too, so you’ll never have to deal with sawed off safety sticks. Wet aluminum is a thing of the past, as these doors close tight as a drum.

Fold & Slide Doors (available in Alu-wood and All-wood)
