Our Commitment

Cahan European Window Company is dedicated to providing European style windows and doors of the highest quality construction, workmanship and performance to ensure your complete satisfaction. Our commitment is to meet or exceed your expectations, and our reputation rides on achieving this objective. If you have any questions or concerns about your Cahan windows and doors, or in the unlikely event you experience any issues with them, please contact us for information and help. If your Cahan windows and doors are within the warranty period specified below, we will provide the warranted remedies at no charge to you. If they are beyond the warranty period, Cahan European Window Company will make repairs, replacement parts and/or maintenance available to you at a reasonable charge.

Our Warranty

Twenty (20) Year Limited Warranty For Glass
The glass in factory glazed windows and doors is guaranteed against manufacturing defects for twenty years from the date of sale. Cahan European Window Company will ship replacement glass and/or sash or door panels to you in the event of any material obstruction of vision resulting from manufacturing defects or as a result of premature failure of the glass or organic seal, at no cost to you. Labor connected with glass replacement is not covered by this Limited Warranty. The warranty also is subject to the terms, conditions and limitations set forth in the General Conditions and Exclusions, below.

Ten (10) Year Limited Warranty For Components Other Than Glass
In the event of any defect in manufacturing, materials or workmanship of your Cahan windows and doors that is not covered by the glass warranty, Cahan European Window Company will, at its option, either repair or replace defective product(s) and/or components at its sole cost for the first three years from date of door delivery. Thereafter, there will be a charge for labor, but all parts will be provided without cost for the duration of the Limited Warranty. If repair or replacement is impractical, Cahan European Window Company may elect to refund your original product purchase price. This warranty is subject to the terms, conditions and limitations set forth in the General Conditions and Exclusions, below.

General Conditions and Exclusions
This Limited Warranty does not cover damage caused by improper installation, use or maintenance; accidents; acts of God; normal wear or change of finish color, whether caused by mechanical damage or abrasion, the sun or weather, including acid rain, salt spray or other corrosive elements, severe wind, water or snow; damage caused by water leakage other than as a result of a defective product; minor scratches or other imperfections in the glass that do not significantly obscure vision; customer misuse, abuse, neglect or failure to follow recommended maintenance procedures. Glass provided or glazed by others and brass hardware finishes are also excluded from this warranty. The warranties set forth above are the only expressed warranties, oral or written, applicable to Cahan European Window Company. No one is authorized to modify or expand these written warranties.

THERE ARE NO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR ANY PARTICULAR PURPOSE. CAHAN EUROPEAN WINDOW COMPANY IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, AND CUSTOMER'S SOLE REMEDY IS AS SPECIFIED IN THE LIMITED WARRANTIES CONTAINED HEREIN.

Please include in your notice the product in question, the original date of purchase, the problem experienced, your address and telephone number. Cahan European Window Company will investigate your claim and notify you within 45 days of the action to be taken. Cahan European Window Company may charge an inspection fee for any on-site inspection that is required or requested by you, but we will waive this fee if we determine that the product or glass has a defect covered by this Limited Warranty.

In the event of a dispute arising out of the terms or conditions of this warranty, or any work performed under this agreement, the parties agree that the dispute shall be resolved by binding arbitration. Neither party shall have any right of appeal from the decision of the Arbiter except as provided by RCW 7.04.160. The arbitration shall be held in King County, Washington, before a single member of the Judicial Arbitration and Mediation Services of King County, Washington or another arbitration service of Cahan's choice. The prevailing party in any such arbitration shall be entitled to an award of their attorney's fees and costs in such arbitration as shall be established by the Arbiter. Any such award may be confirmed as a judgment in the Superior Court.
